Today is the 310th Anniversary of the last Cascadia Megathrust Earthquake (magnitude 9+). We are clearly right in the middle of the "sweet spot" for the next event. Recent events in Haiti have shown the devastation a major seismic event can produce. It also shows the time it takes for an organized response to get adequate equipment and personnel on the ground and the critical need for local, trained, prepared and equipped resources to act in the immediate aftermath of an event to save lives. This is a really good time to reflect on your own preparedness, as well as to consider what you can do to increase your team's and neighborhood's preparedness.
